Native Americans

Sort by:
The Virtual Jamestown Archive is a digital research, teaching and learning project that explores the legacies of the Jamestown settlement and "the Virginia experiment."

The essay begins with the idea that after the Louisian Purchase made westward expansion inevitable, native Americans became increasingly vulnerable. It discusses the removal of the Five Civilized Tribes (including the Cherokees) from their homeland.

The student may research shifting changes in American policies toward Native Americans over a 250-year period.
