I went to college close to home. I did start in the bay area (Moraga, CA) which is very close to Berkeley and San Francisco. St. Mary's College was a bit expensive for my parents at the time $22,000/year back in 1993! I ended up at UC Davis. Davis, CA was a wonderful college town and close to Sacramento and only an hour from the bay area. I enjoyed Davis so much that I went on and got a MS from the school as well! Perhaps I should have spread my wings a bit wider, but Davis, CA was so homey and it felt safe. The institution as well as the environment are both important elements when going to school, or choosing a school.

That would be a great idea! We should include Vets and Retirees, especially now with the many job losses (layoffs). This could only help. Another benefit would be to show them that we still appreciate their service and they are not forgotten just because we no longer see them in uniform.

As an anthropologist, I loved this book. There were some areas where I felt she called up a bit too much wordplay, but the book was never intended as a strong example of research or interview methods. To me, what is interesting is the big question of escape and creating a society that in fundementally separated from the mainstream.

Also check out Marc Singer's documentary - it's on Netflix. It's less sensational, but very good.

Thank you for the encouraging video! Tutor.com is a fantastic company that offers an invaluable service. I love working here and wish that it was around when I was in school. But I graduated a year too early! Enjoy your holidays everyone. Merry Christmas!
