Tutor.com/military Helps Army Family Overcome Adversity

The Ramos family began using Tutor.com/military in 2011, when Mr. Ramos was attending U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy. Six years later, the family still relies on the resource for their adopted grandson. Tutor.com/military is honored to be a staple in this military household!

Tutor.com: What do you use Tutor.com/military for and how has it helped your family?

Mr. Ramos: I used Tutor.com/military while I was completing my bachelor’s degree. The military life never stops, and I found it hard to work and study simultaneously. Many times, I depended on Tutor.com/military for help with my assignments and homework. The use of this program from the convenience of my home provided me with more time to spend with my family.

Around the same time I completed my degree, my grandson, Tommy, tragically lost both of his parents and we became his guardians. Tommy is in an early college program that is very demanding, and I couldn’t help him with his homework every day. On top of that, I deploy for six months at a time, and it’s usually up to my wife to juggle raising a high schooler while maintaining a household.

Almost every day, my grandson does his homework with the help of Tutor.com/military while my wife takes care of the house. Tommy has maintained an “A” average during his first year of the early college program and will have an associate degree upon completion of high school.

Mrs. Ramos: My husband has served for over 27 years in the U.S. Army. He has been deployed many times and participated in countless training events that continue to keep him away from home. His deployments and busy military career prevented him from helping Tommy with his homework. Tutor.com/military has been the parent that helps Tommy correct his homework and explain math problems like my husband does when he is available.

Tutor.com:  What are the qualities about Tutor.com/military that you like?

Mr. Ramos: There are almost too many to list! But, most important, Tutor.com/military has helped both my grandson and me produce the quality of work that is expected at the college level. In addition, the 24/7 availability of a live tutor—and the fact that using Tutor.com/military saves time—has helped us tremendously.
