We’re excited to welcome Sarah Read to the Tutor.com for Military Families team as a part-time Outreach Coordinator in Japan! Sarah lives in Misawa, Japan, where her husband, an Air Force pharmacist, is stationed. Sarah and her husband moved to Misawa in early August of 2014 from the gorgeous beaches on the Emerald Coast in Northwest Florida.
Sarah enjoys being outdoors; biking, soaking up the sun, playing in the snow, and taking in beautiful and breath taking sites. Sarah and her husband hope to travel to Tokyo soon to attend a Sumo Wrestling Tournament and look forward to continuing to experience the culture and all Japan has to offer during their tour.
Sarah graduated from University of Phoenix with a Bachelor’s in Psychology, so she is no stranger to online learning and is currently enrolled at the University of West Florida, as she is working on a Master’s in Social Work. Sarah has been a Guardian ad Litem volunteer for about two years in which she has worked with and advocated for abused and neglected children in the Dependency System in the state of Florida. Sarah has also been active in the military community and loves to give back to military families. Sarah served on the governing board for the Spouses’ Club, for two years, at her husband’s last duty station and volunteered at various events benefiting the military community.
Sarah has a passion for helping others, especially military children and families as they are close to her heart. She is eager to spread the word about Tutor.com, for Military dependents K-12, and can’t wait to help put military children and families at ease in knowing professional tutoring is out there, it is free, and it is a remarkable resource providing one on one, 24/7 on-demand assistance to Tutor.com members.
