How did you find out about Tutor.com?
I learned about it from a friend of mine who told me her friend tutored for Tutor.com and loved it!
Why do you tutor with Tutor.com? What makes you stay?
I love the fact that Tutor.com enables me to be a full-time mother while giving me the opportunity to keep my academic side. I’m so grateful for the flexibility involved with both the hours required and the availability to work 24/7. It is a dream job for a stay-at-home parent!
What’s your best study tip?
No one is just one particular learning style so I find that it is advantageous to do a little bit of everything when mastering a concept. In high school, I used to record my voice while I recalled the information for my exams. Both recording and listening to my voice afterwards helped me immerse myself in the subject.
What’s your favorite part of tutoring?
I am deeply impressed with those students who have any type of obstacle that they are bravely overcoming in order to educate themselves. Whether it be a language barrier, a special need, or a parent trying to go back to school, these people inspire me by endeavoring toward the admirable purpose of improving and growing come what may.
What do you like to do for fun?
I’m very crafty, academic, and musical. I love learning and reaching new goals! Right now, I’ve put together a group of local ladies for a three-month, fitness challenge to start off the New Year. I love to crochet, sew, cook, bake, read, run, go on camping trips, sing, and play my violin. Family and friends are also a huge part of my life.
