Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I currently live in Texas with my husband, who is in the Navy, and our two fantastic dogs. I have a degree from Eastern New Mexico University in Elementary Education with a focus in Language Arts. Previously, I’ve worked as an Education Assistant in a middle school and at the New Mexico Children’s Home where I was able to provide a loving and stable home for children from age 2 through 17.

While at the Children’s Home, I had the opportunity to work as a tutor to help these children reach their full educational potential. Right now I am tutoring with Tutor.com in English, College Essay Writing, Elementary Math and Science, Earth Science, and Social Studies.

What makes Tutor.com a great fit for you?

As a Navy wife, it has been difficult to find a teaching job with the erratic moving schedule that comes with being in the military. Tutor.com has been the perfect way to implement my degree while constantly relocating with my family.

What is your favorite feature of tutoring online?

Tutor.com provides a great opportunity for students to have a more one-on-one learning experience. As a classroom teacher, I understand how difficult it can be to provide that experience for every student. However, I also understand how important the one-on-one time is for each student to truly grasp a subject and expand their knowledge.

Any back-to-school tips?

With the new school year beginning, I am reminded of how wonderful Tutor.com can be as a refresher for students returning to school.
