Maureen Haney Joins

Maureen HaneyMaureen Haney, our Program Manager for Military and Federal Programs, first glimpsed the world from a U.S. Naval Hospital on Guam. Since then, she’s lived and breathed the typical life of a military brat, traveling the world and moving frequently. Maureen’s father, a Vietnam Veteran, served in the Naval Dental Corps for 11 years before transferring to the Air Force to round out his 25-year career. Before graduating from a Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS) high school in Croughton, England, Maureen attended eight different elementary, middle and high schools.

Her firsthand understanding of military life, combined with her professional experience, makes Maureen an asset to the team and an enthusiastic supporter of the families she’ll meet while spreading the word about for U.S. Military Families.

Prior to joining, Maureen worked for ten years in Public Relations, Public Outreach and Marketing roles with state government agencies in New Mexico and Virginia. She earned undergraduate degrees in both Mass Communications and Journalism and Professional/Technical Writing from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque

She currently lives in the Charlottesville, Virginia area with her own Air Force “military man,” who has deployed four times in the last six years. In her spare time Maureen enjoys world travel, outdoor adventure, photography, wine tasting, cooking (and eating!) spicy food and spending time with friends.
