Strengthening Military Families

We were excited to see the President, First Lady and Dr. Jill Biden center stage yesterday calling on the government and civilians to support our military families “100%”.    Strengthening Our Military Families:  Meeting America’s Commitment focuses on four priorities:

  1. Enhance the well-being and psychological health of the military family.
  2. Ensure excellence in military children’s education and their development.
  3. Develop career and educational opportunities for military spouses.
  4. Increase child care availability and quality for the Armed Forces. is actively involved in two of these priorities – providing military children an excellent education and helping military spouses develop career and education opportunities.  In fact, military families have connected to a tutor more than 150,000 times to one of our tutors for help with homework, studying, job searching, resume writing and much more. These services are free to military families thanks to funding from the Department of Defense.

Throughout the past year, we’ve been fortunate to visit many bases across the country to visit with students and their families, hear their stories and take lots of photos .  We are proud to serve these families and help alleviate some of the stress that comes with long deployments and a mobile lifestyle.

At a event at the Dover Air Force Base in October, Governor Markell and Senator Carper came to support our troops and share their personal stories with a group of military families.  At one point, Senator Carper leaned down and told the children ranging in age from Kindergarten to ninth grade, “Thank you for lending us your parents.”

We look forward to continuing to support the education and career goals of military families 100%.   Tell us what more we can do by commenting here or visiting us on Facebook.
